Lower and Middle School Wolves Achieve Top Honors at PSIA

57 St. Francis Lower and Middle students participated in the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) District Meet on Saturday, March 3. Of them, 38 won medals and 13 medalists qualified for the PSIA State Meet.

After months of hard work and study, 57 St. Francis Lower and Middle students participated in the Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) District Meet at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School on Saturday, March 3. Of them, 38 won medals and 13 medalists qualified for the PSIA State Meet to be held at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth on Saturday, April 28.

Each student chose to participate in either one or two academic events, with categories ranging from the creative to the analytical. All those who earned first place will move on to the State Meet, and many who finished second will do the same.

In Lower School, 35 students brought home 18 medals, and the following five medalists qualified for the State Meet:

  • Third grader Ashley C. in Ready Writing
  • Fourth grader Sophia C. in Ready Writing
  • Fourth grader Emma S. in Music Memory
  • Fourth grader Christopher Z. in Mathematics
  • Fourth grader Christopher Z. in Music Memory

  • In Middle School, 22 total contestants brought home 20 medals from the District Meet, with the following eight medalists qualifying for the State Meet:

  • Sixth grader McKenna F. in Art Memory
  • Fifth grader Matthew B. in Dictionary Skills
  • Fifth grader Henry D. in Maps, Graphs, and Charts
  • Fifth grader Sophia B. in Music Memory
  • Fifth grader Emma V. in Music Memory
  • Seventh grader Sophie D. in Music Memory
  • Sixth grader Quinn L. in Poetry Interpretation
  • Seventh grader Ava S. in Ready Writing
