The St. Francis admissions process varies by grade level, so please follow the guide below for each school’s application steps. To view a curriculum summary and appropriate contacts by division, view the Curriculum at a Glance documents for Primary School, Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School.

Primary School

Pre-Primary (2 years old by Sept 1) - Must not have turned 3 before June 1 of the year they will enter Pre-Primary

  1. Online application and $100 fee
  2. Birth certificate (upload in portal)
  3. Tour
    • Register for an Admissions Group Tour by logging into your portal account.
    • Families new to St Francis must attend a group tour. Current families may tour or meet with Admissions.
  4. Teacher recommendation (if currently attending another school)
  5. Parent Questionnaire
  6. Parent/Student group visit, scheduled by Admissions in November

Primary I (3 years old by Sept 1) - Must not have turned 4 before June 1 of the year they will enter Primary I

All application criteria listed above for Pre-Primary, plus:

  1. Student group visit scheduled by Admissions Office in November

Primary II (4 years old by Sept 1) - Must not have turned 5 before June 1 of the year they will enter Primary II

All application criteria listed above for Primary I, plus:

  1. Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence™(WPPSI); click here to register

Lower School (K–4)

Kindergarten (5 years old by September 1) - Must not have turned 6 before June 1 of the year they will enter Kindergarten

  1. Online application and $100 fee
  2. Birth certificate (upload in portal)
  3. Tour
    • After submitting an inquiry or application, you may register for an Admissions Group Tour by logging into your portal account.
    • Tour registration is located among the other checklist items in the Admissions Application section.
  4. Student group visit and observation (2 hours) appointment in January; scheduled by the Admissions Office
  5. Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence™(WPPSI); click here to register
  6. Teacher recommendation (if currently attending another school)
  7. Parent Questionnaire
  8. Digital copy of Custodial Agreement (if applicable)

First Grade

All application criteria listed above for Kindergarten, plus:

  1. Student individual visit and observation (8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) appointment in January; scheduled by the Admissions Office
  2. Transcript and any additional testing; Student Transcript Release is in the portal

Second–Fourth Grade

All application criteria listed above for Kindergarten and First Grade (instead of the WPPSI listed above, students applying to Second-Fourth Grades take the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V), plus:

Middle School (5–8)

Fifth–Eighth Grade

  1. Online application and $100 fee
  2. Birth certificate (upload in portal)
  3. Parent visit, tour, or attend Admissions Preview
    • After submitting an inquiry or application, you may register for an Admissions Group Tour by logging into your portal account.
    • Tour registration is located among the other checklist items in the Admissions Application section.
  4. Student individual visit/interview (8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) appointment in January; scheduled by the Admissions Office
  5. Independent School Entrance Exam administered at St. Francis on Saturday, January 11, 2020
  6. Math teacher recommendation
  7. English teacher recommendation
  8. Transcript and any additional testing; Student Transcript Release is in the portal
  9. Parent questionnaire

 

 

Upper School (Grades 9–11)

Ninth and Tenth Grade

  1. Online application and $100 fee
  2. Birth certificate (upload in portal)
  3. Parent visit or group tour
    • After submitting an inquiry or application, you may register for an Admissions Group Tour by logging into your portal account.
    • Tour registration is located among the other checklist items in the Admissions Application section.
  4. Student interview in January; scheduled by the Admissions Office
  5.  Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) 
  6. Math teacher recommendation
  7. English teacher recommendation
  8. Transcript and any additional testing; Student Transcript Release is online
  9. Parent questionnaire
  10. Student Short Answer; to be completed by student
  11. Special Interest Recommendation (optional)

We will accept applications for the 2020-19 school year after September 1, 2019.

Important Dates:

Application Deadline: December 16, 2019
Rolling Admissions: Applications received after the application deadline will be accepted on a rolling basis as space becomes available
ISEE Testing: January 11, 2020
File Completion Deadline: January 15, 2020
Decisions E-mailed: March 12, 2020
Common Reply Date: April 3, 2020
