Explore and Extend After-School Program
At St. Francis, we believe that learning should not end with the last bell of the school day. That is why our Explore and Extend after-school enrichment program features a varying array of small group classes each semester. From art to martial arts, dance, and foreign language study to gymnastics, robotics, cooking, and chess, there is a class to pique the interest of every student.
After-School Care and Enrichment Classes for Students 2-Years-Old and Up
Explore and Extend (E&E) After-School Care begins at dismissal and runs until 6:00 p.m., providing students with structured daily activities and a healthy snack.
Students are encouraged to develop self-help, social, problem solving, creative, and critical thinking skills within a developmentally appropriate environment.
Time is provided for students in Lower and Middle School to independently pursue homework. While teachers are available to assist as needed, Explore and Extend is not a tutorial service and cannot provide one-on-one tutoring during this homework time.
E&E Enrichment classes are offered on both Piney Point and Couper Campus throughout the school year. Offerings change each semester.
Fall semester enrichment classes for Pre-Primary will host an array of educational and fun-filled “Parent and Me” classes. Students signed up for these classes will require a parent or guardian participating in the class alongside the student and will provide an environment where parents and children can learn, play, and grow together, creating lasting memories and strengthening their bond. For the Spring Semester, Pre- Primary students will transition to independent enrichment classes.
